Sharkoon Announces SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen2 Keyboard

Sharkoon today announced the SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen 2 series keyboards. With the SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen 2, our bestselling keyboard has been given an update. The Gen 2 version has everything that our SGK50 series has always had, including hot-swap switches and keycaps, as well as a stylish coiled cable. In addition, the keyboard is now fully customizable using the open-source software VIA and QMK, and there is improved sound thanks to the polycarbonate plate and double-layer silicone damping.

The SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen 2 is fully designed for gaming, which is why the popular Gateron Yellow linear switches are already pre-installed. Any switch with 3 or 5 pins can be used with the SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen 2, allowing you to enjoy experimenting with switches to achieve the optimal typing feel. The required hot-swap tools are already included with the keyboard. The SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen 2 catches the eye with its compact form factor that is 60 percent of a full 3-block keyboard. Nevertheless, thanks to the double assignment of keys for important commands, a layout with full functionality can be relied on.

Full Customization Thanks to Open Source
To conserve computer resources, the SKILLER SGK50 S4 uses quick, on-the-fly adjustments without the need for software. However, for full customization, the Gen 2 models can also be modified using the open-source software VIA and QMK.

Keyboard Sound of the Next Generation
To ensure that the keyboard sounds as good as it looks, we have given the Gen 2 version a polycarbonate positioning plate and double-layer silicone damping to provide a rich, deep typing sound.

Stylish USB Coiled Cable
Like all keyboards in the SGK50 series, the S4 Gen 2 comes with a detachable coiled cable that has a USB-C to USB-A connection and provides a particularly chic look for any setup.

SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen 2 PBT
Apart from the modern look with its compact form factor, coiled cable and RGB illumination, the SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen 2 PBT also has the latest linear switches from the specialist Gateron, as well as keycaps made of high-quality, abrasion-resistant PBT. Of course, as you would expect from this keyboard series, the keycaps and switches can be hot swapped, and all keyboard functions can be customized thanks to the open-source VIA and QMK software.

SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen 2 Barebone
Like the other keyboards in the series, the Barebone version of the SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen 2 is designed for the easy hot swapping of switches and can be fully customized using the VIA and QMK open-source software. However, in contrast to the standard or PBT versions of the keyboard, the Barebone comes without pre-installed switches and keycaps and is therefore ideal for the determined and creative hobbyists who strive to personalize and optimize their own typing experience.

Price and Availability
The SKILLER SGK50 S4 Gen 2 is now available as a standard, PBT, or Barebone version at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price of 69.90 euros, 79.90 euros and 49.90 euros, respectively. Each version is available as a black and a white edition.
